AGA Span

AGA Span is a specialised product for vertical bank protection. It provides a high-quality and very economical form of erosion control.

AGA Span is a prefabricated revetment fabric, which is UV stabilised. The technique can be softened by using pre-established coir rolls to provide a vegetated element to the face. After installation and with time, the face of the AGA Span will start to green up as it becomes colonised by natural algae and lichens providing a more sympathetic aesthetic appearance. This form of bank erosion technique is used most commonly used in fisheries and along the side of canals as it provides excellent vertical protection against bank erosion.

AGA Span is relatively easy to install and will last for a long period of time.

AGA Claymat

AGA Claymat Natural Clay Lining System is ideal for both large and small ponds.

High technology and extremely dense bentonite liner of low thickness will provide a securely sealed water containment structure of any size.

The self-sealing property of AGA Claymat secures the integrity of any open water containment system. In the event of damage, water will cause the bentonite to hydrate and thus, render the liner impermeable.

The structure is permanently protected, even small cracks and voids will self-seal. AGA Claymat offers superior technical properties, significant advantages in cost savings, ease of installation and outstanding performance.

AGA has been constructing water bodies with Geosynthetic Clay Liners (GCL) for over 20 years. Bentonite clay liners have almost totally superseded compacted clay liners because of their cost-effective construction and reliability.

AGA Advance

AGA Advanced geotextile reinforces poor existing subsoil and prevents it from mixing with the good quality imported structure material.

AGA Advance is a woven geotextile designed to create a stable base for a wide range of earthwork construction. Its resistance to naturally occurring acids and alkalis ensures reliable long term performance.

AGA Advance limits uneven settlement reducing the risk of rutting or deformation developing on the finished surface, very effective where dependable strength is called for. It is versatile, lightweight and permeable and importantly, less expensive, it minimises the use of imported construction materials that are needed therefore ensuring substantial savings. On weaker sub-soils where thicker constructions may be required, considerable savings in the cost of hard-core or stone can be made. Rot proof and inert to all naturally occurring chemicals, AGA Advance becomes an integral part of base construction.

AGA Advance HF
AGA. Advance HF woven geotextiles provide outstanding water flow and pore size characteristics that will satisfy even the most demanding hydraulic applications. The uniform apertures across the roll ensure fine particle retention and even filtration characteristics that maximise long term performance by reducing the likelihood of the fabric blocking and clogging.

AGA GeoCell

AGA GeoCell cellular confinement system supports a viable layer of topsoil on the slopes and banks of rivers, roads, railways and coastal areas and offers protection over tree roots.

AGA GeoCell is a cellular matrix of interconnecting polymer strips that form pockets to locate and strengthen the fill material, providing a tensile strength that very effectively increases the shear resistance and cohesion of the fill. GeoCell supports a viable layer of topsoil on steep slopes and banks. Manufactured from high-density polyethene sheet, securely welded at the joints and then installed using soil pins, it provides strength at least equal to the strip material itself. The cells are folded flat for easy transport and expanded on-site to form the full cell web area. Available in depths of 100mm and 200mm and various cell diameters that have cellular drainage holes to prevent saturation of the fill material.

Access roads:
AGA GeoCell vastly improves the bearing capacity of standard fill material.

Revetments:
AGA GeoCell forms a flexible revetment structure for the lining of ditches and water channels and may be filled with concrete or crushed stone. The web is also available with holes to attach to securing ropes.

Basal reinforcement:
AGA GeoCell makes it possible to reduce foundation stone thickness by up to 50% when laid on steep slopes. The polymer strips provide a tensile force effectively increasing the cohesion of the material and act as mini-weirs to reduce run-off and soil loss and is ideal for:

AGA GeoCell is probably the most satisfactory solution for areas where trees are at risk and need protection temporarily or permanently, especially where Tree Protection Orders may be in force. (BS5837:2005 gives recommendations and guidance on principles to be applied to achieve a satisfactory juxtaposition of trees).

AGA Geocell will stabilise the ground, prevent compaction and induce lateral spreading of down forces from traffic, while at the same time allowing moisture and nutrients to penetrate to the roots.

Tree Root Protection Mat (TRPM)

Tree root protection mat (TRPM) incorporates A.G.A. GeoCell with a high-performance needle-punched polypropylene non-woven geotextile,  to provide long term protection to tree roots whilst providing support to heavy traffic loads. The permeable membrane lets water, nutrients and air percolate the root zone to sustain plant development, while at the same time deflecting fibrous root from rising through into the GeoCell fill material.

Roots of trees are particularly susceptible to damage from heavy traffic movements which cause slow deterioration of health or the death of trees.

TRPM is a robust, permeable membrane that lets water, nutrients and air percolate the root zone to sustain plant development, while at the same time deflecting fibrous root rising into the cell fill.

TRPM is a high-performance needle-punched polypropylene non-woven geotextile, developed to offer outstanding performance at minimum weight. TRPM is used in conjunction with A.G.A. GeoCell to provide long term protection to tree roots with the applications of separation & filtration

Our non-woven needle-punched geotextiles provide a cushioning layer to protect adjacent geosynthetics.

AGA Firestone EPDM

AGA Group can supply and install a range of liners that are technically advanced to suit all needs and standards of waterproofing and containment. To support the range of standard synthetic liners and to deal with leaks to clay ponds a range of geo-composite clay liners designed around ‘bentonite’ are also regularly supplied and installed as part of our liner service. AGA have been installing lakes and ponds for many years and have a proven track record of over 30 years for professional design and construction, from Concept to Completion.

Firestone EPDM is a single-ply synthetic rubber impermeable membrane offering a unique combination of benefits. It is completely inert and poses no threat to wildlife. It is also the preferred liner for decorative water features.

AGA Geo-Grid

AGA Geo-Grids are perfect for soil reinforcement for steep earth slopes, retaining walls and the stabilisation of the weak ground.
AGA Geo-Grids create a reinforcing function by supporting the penetration of soil/rock particles or other geotechnical materials through the apertures of the grid by interlocking the particles.
Geo-Grids are used in layers with suitable fill to create a stiff mechanically stabilised layer within the soil, vastly improving its load-bearing capacity and for reinforcement of non-cohesive soils, cohesive soils and formations made of coarse-grained materials.
Geo-Grid reinforced steep slopes and embankments cost significantly less than conventional concrete or gabions retaining structures. AGA Geo-Grids used for soil reinforcement can accommodate very high loads.

Vegetation is often an integral part of the design where Geo-Grids are used, where required our consultants will always advise on suitable planting methods and species. A.G.A. Geo-Grids are available in strengths from 20kN/m to 350kN/m. Bi-axial grids offer strength in both directions. Uni-axial grids provide the principal strength in one direction.

Where required we can design and have manufactured Geo-Grids produced to higher strengths to suit a client’s own specification.

 

AGA High Density Polyethylene Liner (HDPE)

AGA HDPE is a high-performance geo-membrane that provides the end-user with the optimum in state-of-the-art containment liners.  It is made from high-density polyethene resins (HDPE) and is one of our most popularly specified liners.  Combining the advantages of polypropylene with those of ethylene-propylene rubber.

AGA HDPE offers the best of both worlds by creating a highly flexible but very robust liner.  Geo-membranes are the most widely used products for water containment applications including canals, watercourses and solid waste containment (such as landfills).

AGA HDPE  offers valuable benefits:

Our high-performance geo-membrane provides the end-user with the optimum in state-of-the-art containment liners.  It is particularly cost-effective; it provides the lowest permeability of any geo-membrane. This, together with its very high chemical and stress crack resistance, makes our HDPE the ideal solution for almost any containment application.

    AGA NP300 Non-Woven Needle Punched Geotextile

    AGA NP300 is a high-performance 300gsm geotextile that provides outstanding performance at minimum weight with excellent puncture resistance.

    Protection

    AGA NP300 is installed below and/or above an impermeable membrane to function as a protection geotextile preventing the risk of puncture damage to the liner.

    AGA NP300 is a strong and flexible needle punch geotextile that protects a wide range of adjacent geosynthetics. With its excellent flexibility, durability and thickness, needle punch fabric offers an ideal puncture-resistant protective cushion.

    Separation

    AGA NP300 reinforces poor existing sub-soil by preventing it from mixing with costly imported material that is laid above. This geotextile layer helps to limit uneven settlement reducing rutting and/or deformation, thus increasing the load-bearing capability and stability of foundations or traffic load-bearing layers. AGA NP300 used below AGA Geocell as a Tree Root Protection Mat provides a layer for separation and filtration. Water, nutrients and air percolate the root zone to sustain plant development while deflecting fibrous root rising through into the Geocell fill.

    AGA Armourmat

    AGA ArmorMat is used on steep soil slopes vulnerable to erosion; once installed it immediately increases the soil’s resistance to erosive runoff displacement by providing conditions that enhance the growth of underlying vegetation through the medium, which may be existing foliage or quality topsoil that is blended into the ArmorMat matrix following installation.

    ArmorMat is a three-dimensional matrix of UV stabilised, non-degradable synthetic fibres, heat bonded where they cross then extruded onto a double twisted steel woven mesh. When used within the watercourse, ArmorMat provides hydraulic erosion protection once it is secured with suitable soil nails or ground anchors as specified by the client.
