Brushwood Faggots

Erosion protection

Brushwood-Faggots.jpg

Brushwood faggots are typically bundles of hazel, chestnut and willow that we fix along river banks in order to provide underside support to coir rolls and pallets. The bundles ensure the coir sits at the correct level, whilst in turn providing additional erosion protection to the bank.

Sometimes used for 'fascines' along estuarine river banks to create silt traps (known as brushwood ‘mattresses’), brushwood faggots are an excellent, versatile solution to river bank erosion.

We can provide brushwood faggots in tight or loose bundles, together with all fencing, posts and supports rails.
