Comberton Pond restoration
A.G.A. Group was contracted to carry out necessary restorations to the Comberton Village Pond.
This pond has had issues in the past, due to low water levels during dry periods. The lack of water meant that the pond would end up being referred to as the "village mudbaths" by locals.
Improved water level
The issues with this pond stem from ongoing trouble with low water levels. This is particularly true during periods with a lack of rain.
We have removed the island and silt to create a deeper area to retain water for more of the year. The existing walls have been repointed and plants reintroduced to the pond. Furthermore, we carried out repairs to brickworks and incoming pipes.
All of this is adding up to a pond with better water levels throughout the year, and the pre-planted coir rolls will act as erosion control, to keep the shape of the pond for longer.
